Our Veterinary Team’s Visit to Vietnam

Oct 2022

Our veterinary team traveled to Da Nang, Vietnam, to work alongside our partners at Paws For Compassion (PFC). This grassroots organization, founded by two young ex-pats, has grown into a safe haven for dogs and cats in a country where unwanted and abandoned animals face tremendous challenges.

We were honored to bring several thousand dollars’ worth of medications and supplies, as well as a new orthopedic drill to support advanced surgeries. Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jessica Dahlberg joined us and trained the local veterinary team in orthopedic procedures, giving them tools and knowledge to save even more lives.

During our visit, we also hosted a spay/neuter day at a local temple where monks care for dogs that have been abandoned there. In just one day, we sterilized around 20 dogs, helping to reduce overpopulation and prevent future suffering. The monks warmly welcomed us, and after the work was done, shared a beautiful vegan lunch in gratitude.

The entire trip was a truly special experience—one that strengthened our bond with PFC and reminded us of the power of compassion and collaboration to create lasting change for animals everywhere.
