SERVING LOS ANGELES

In partnership with local rescue organizations and community leaders, WUFAW addresses urgent animal welfare issues in Los Angeles. We’ve organized protests to raise awareness and demand action from the City Council, Los Angeles Animal Services (LAAS), and the Mayor’s office. Additionally, we extend vital resources to underserved areas, including Skid Row*, South LA, and the San Fernando Valley.

*Skid Row is a densely populated area in downtown Los Angeles, home to over 10,000 homeless individuals and their pets spread across 50 city blocks. In the summer of 2023, local rescuer Jenn Sims alerted us to the severe conditions faced by animals in the area, including issues with dog breeding, dog fighting, neglect, and constant flea infestations.
